Connect Groups is a community-based organisation that provides support and assistance for support groups and individuals (formerly Western Institute of Self Help).

Carers WA
Carers WA is the peak body for family carers and provides information, education, counselling and advocacy.

ARAFMI provides services and support to families and friends of people with mental health issues. Their services include support groups, advocacy and community education.

Health Consumers' Council
The Health Consumers' Council provides an advocacy role for health consumers and mental health consumers.

Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH)
WAAMH provides representation for non-government, not-for-profit mental health services and is involved in the promotion of mental health awareness and developing policies in the mental health sector.

Mental Health Commission
The Mental Health Commission is the main office responsible for developing policies and planning relevant to mental health services in Western Australia. The website has a directory providing information about mental health services available in WA.

Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy
The Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy is a multidisciplinary association for health professionals with an interest in the application of cognitive and behavioural principles to help alleviate difficulties sometimes experienced by individuals and groups in the community. The AACBT holds free monthly seminars, and also workshops, state and national conferences on CBT.


GROW is a community of people working towards mental health through mutual help and a 12 step program of recovery.

Australia and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED)

ANZAED represents professionals working in the field of eating disorders: prevention, treatment, and research. ANZAED aims to provide opportunities for members' collegial interaction and sharing of knowledge and resources.

National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC)

In 2009 the NEDC was funded by the Federal Department of Health and Ageing to develop an evidence based National Framework on the prevention, treatment and management of eating disorders in Australia.
